Caiden is NINE! How?!
For his birthday dinner he wanted to go to Macaroni Grill, his absolute favorite because they serve the delicious rosemary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (upon his request). He has loved "dipping bread" since he was 2 or 3 and we've always felt it made him seem somehow grown-up and refined. Of course looking at it on his shirt doesn't make him seem quite so refined.
This very talented woman came to our table as his giant piece of cake was served and sang him "Happy Birthday" in Italian. Really fun! Caiden thought it was pretty great!
Caiden is not much for cake but tried his best to eat a few bites.
Caiden got a HexBug from Grandma and Grandpa Cook. The boys think it's pretty great. It looks like a roach running around on the floor crazily, while making a little buzzing noise.
Look how excited he was to get some new underwear! (He did a good job pretending anyway.)
We finished off his birthday with strawberry shakes.
Caiden we love you so much. We are so incredibly glad that you are part of our family. You are such an amazing boy! Moving was hard for all of us but you have certainly adjusted great. You've made friends and been successful at new sports! Your brothers and sister love you so much. The example that you have set for all of us is one that I am so pleased with. You really are a special kid. Thank you for all the you do for our family. We love you!!!!! Mwah!!
(Sadly for me I only have pictures of Caiden on this computer starting around age 5.)

I can't believe you're nine. I am so glad that we have you as our grandson. You are so handsome and you're so good with your brothers and sister. I love your poster. It looks great. Good job. WE love you so much. Thanks for adding so much joy to our family.
